Selfishly, I think Atlanta has one of the hottest pickleball scenes out there. When you first start playing, people warn you that it’s addictive and they’re absolutely right. You play at one court, then immediately start scoping out where else you can play. Before you know it, it’s totally normal to ask the random partner you just met, “Hey, where do you usually play?” (Honestly, it might be the most common pickleball question.) I love it.
My own pickleball journey started at Grimes Bridge Park in Roswell, Georgia. From there, I’ve probably visited just about every park and facility I could find. Along the way, I’ve played indoors, outdoors, local parks, and even tennis courts!
I’ve put together a list of my favorite pickleball courts across Metro Atlanta. Let me know if I'm missing any!
Public and FREE Dedicated Pickleball Courts :)
Southside Park (3460 Jonesboro Rd SE, Atlanta, GA)
One of the first pickleball courts I visited when I went searching for more pickleball! It's a well known spot at this point and for good reason; it has 6 dedicated courts.
Hammond Park (705 Hammond Dr, Sandy Springs, GA)
The infamous Hammond Park. Known for its long waits, large community, and structured open play. I use "structured" loosely, btw. Overall, it is a good place for all levels: 2 beginner courts, 3 intermediate courts, and 1 challenge court.
Larry Bell Park (542 Fairground St SE, Marietta, GA)
Another six-court layout where I really learned to improve my game. When I first moved to Atlanta, I lived just ten minutes from Larry Bell, and it quickly became part of my after-work routine. I also played in two leagues here, which helped me level up fast. If you’re looking for more pickleball opportunities, definitely check out the Cobb County pickleball leagues. They were very beginner-friendly.
Sykes Park (3224 Dodson Drive Connector, East Point, GA)
This is where the ballers be! iykyk! This fall Sykes Park became one of my frequent visits because I played on a team based out of there. Great courts and great vibes always.
Other options: Shaw Park, Grove Park, Grimes Bridge, South Fulton Tennis Center
Tennis Courts Turned Pickleball
- Peachtree Hills Park
- Central Park (used to be a regular)
Pickleball Facilities (Most Likely Require Payment/Membership)
Most of the indoor facilities operate pretty similarly; climate-controlled courts, organized open play, leagues, and lessons. It's all about location and price that's the kicker.
Dill Dinkers West End (1200 White St, Atlanta, GA)
Dare I say that they began the indoor facility movement in ATL? You can fact check me on that haha but they were one of the first indoor facilities I visited.
Atlanta Pickleball Center (1200 White St, Atlanta, GA)
This is one of the most well-known indoor pickleball facilities in the area. I am not a frequent flyer there but it is definitely worth checking out.
Painted Pickle (
279 Ottley Dr NE, Atlanta, GA)
Great option for social pickleball! Grab your friends and rent a court OR check out their open play sessions on the weekends. It's actually fun.
Sandy Springs Racquet Center (500 Abernathy Rd NE, Atlanta, GA)
This is a tennis/pickleball OUTDOOR center, but it does require payment so I am including it on this list. I've hosted a few events there and cannot wait to go back in 2026.
Other options: Ace Pickleball Club, Atlanta National Pickleball Club, Smyrna Pickleball Academy, Pickleball Kingdom, ALLLL the Lifetimes
Atlanta’s pickleball community is surprisingly tight-knit. You can show up alone and leave having played with six new people, swapped tips, and maybe even made plans to play again.
It’s also a city where you can choose your experience: free, structured, organized, AC or not.. there is a place that fits just for you.
Don't be afraid to get out there and try a new court or facility! Last week I actually got a membership and I was nervous, but it turned out to be a great experience so far. This list will continue to grow as new spots pop up in Atlanta. If you see me on the courts, say hi and if you’ve got a favorite place to play that I haven’t mentioned yet, let me know!
